Before You Begin: The Winlor Pre-Install Checklist

A successful installation starts before you even open the box. To ensure your custom-made blinds fit perfectly and function smoothly, we recommend the following professional tips:

1. Verify Your Measurements

Check your order confirmation against your window frame one last time. Ensure you have the correct depth for an Inside Mount or sufficient flat surface for an Outside Mount.

2. Gather Your Tools

Most Winlor products require a power drill (with a 1/8" bit), a level, a measuring tape, and a screwdriver. A level is critical—if the brackets aren't perfectly horizontal, your blinds may "telescope" or roll unevenly.

3. Surface Preparation

Ensure your window casing or drywall is sturdy. For heavy motorized units or wide zebra blinds, we recommend securing brackets into studs or using high-quality wall anchors.

Comprehensive Guides by Product Type

Roller Blinds Installation

Our standard roller shades are designed for simplicity. This guide covers bracket placement, tension adjustment for cordless systems, and the "spring-lock" mechanism for a secure fit.

Zebra (Dual) Blinds Installation

Aligning the horizontal bands of Zebra blinds is crucial for the "dual-mode" look. This guide explains how to level the headrail to ensure perfectly synchronized light control.

Motorized Blinds & Smart Setup

Go beyond the physical mount. This specialized guide covers battery charging, remote control pairing, setting "upper and lower" limits, and connecting your shades to your Wi-Fi bridge.

Honeycomb (Cellular) Shades

Learn how to install the hidden brackets for our energy-efficient cellular shades. Includes specific instructions for Top-Down Bottom-Up and cordless safety systems.

Post-Installation: Troubleshooting & Care

Once your blinds are up, follow these steps to ensure they last for decades:

1. Blinds Not Rolling Straight?

If your roller or zebra blind drifts to one side, it is likely slightly out of level. You can "shim" the fabric by placing a small piece of masking tape on the roller tube on the opposite side of the drift to balance the diameter.

2. Motorized Shade Not Responding?

First, check the battery levels. Most Winlor motorized units feature rechargeable Li-ion batteries. If fully charged, try resetting the motor using the "P1" button on the headrail. Refer to the Motorized Programming Guide for specific blink patterns and signal codes.

3. Cleaning Your Fabric

Most of our synthetic fabrics can be lightly dusted or vacuumed with a soft brush attachment. For stains, use a lukewarm damp cloth with extremely mild soap. Never soak cellular shades, as this can damage the internal thermal glue bonds.

Save Time. Ensure Perfection.

While our guides are designed for clarity, high-end window treatments—especially large motorized systems, California shutters, and custom drapery—often require the steady hand of a professional. A single mistake during drilling can damage your window casing or lead to improper tensioning of the fabric.
